Amazing regiinal gallery. Enlightening aboriginal history
This museum is situated right in the heart of Launceston. It's surrounded in a small quiet park off the main road that heads back to Hobart. There is a considerable displayof Aboriginal art set in a well thought-out interactive environment. This will not disappoint you! The attendants are polite; well informed & welcoming. There is a small but highly informative Chinese/Tasmanian display that will stimulateyour desire to obtain further insights into early Chinese influence in Tasmania. There are cloakroom facilities (FOC) and, an immaculate cleantoilet. The associated cafe is good quality too!All up? Well worth the visit - you'll want to return for more!
Engaging staff and beautiful location. The current exhibition The National Picture: The Art of Tasmania's Black War is insiteful and engaging
A wonderful regional Art Gallery. A great place to visit and enjoy!!
One of my favourite places in Tasmania. I love the colonial art works (especially John Glover) and I'm still fascinated by the Chinese Joss House even after fifty years!
