Relaxing and scenic river cruise with nice lunch, good local wine, beer & cheese. Friendly and knowledgeable crew give a great introduction to the attractions of the area around the Tamar and Esk rivers.
I did the 2.5 hour afternoon discovery cruise tour and was disappointed - the river water was just brown and uninteresting. No wildlife to be seen other than sea gulls. The only really interesting bit was the bridge and Cataract Gorge, but that was right at the very end, so I should have just done the 50 minute cruise instead. Compared to the cable car experience, I had a much better perspective of the gorge. The boat had a very steep staircase for those wanting a higher view point. The 2.5 hour trip is nothing like the Gordon River cruise at Strahan which was way more enjoyable. The staff who served us were friendly and hospitable, which is one good aspect of the cruise.
This cruise is a must to have for such a lovely experience. Tony is a great crew member and kept us entertained. Beautiful Tassie with amazing people. Simply loved it. Thank you very much for making our day fun.
