Delicious food. All four of us loved it. We'd had a long day and this was a great spot to unwind with a drink and delicious food. We ate way too much, but it was just so good
We stopped at Launceston during our journey from Hobart to Low Head to have dinner. We found this place on Google map. After reading some reviews, we chose the Cataract on Paterson. We ordered the Salmon and steak on stone. The dishes are delicious.
After a short wait in the sitting area (we forgot to make a dinner reservation and the restaurant was full), we were greeted by fantastic staff. We had a stone grill meal and a 'surprise me' meal and both were full of flavour and went down a treat. Dessert was a deconstructed apple pie and it was DELICIOUS!Highly recommend Cataract for dinner!
Unique and changing menu, something surprising every time. Staff are exceptional a great experience to try. Only downside is that it gets very crowded and can feel crammed in. Not a place to go for conversation over dinner.
I loved their rib eye (medium rare) and soft shell crab. Maybe pricey, but it is a premium restaurant and you are worth the occasional reward. As a precaution, talk to the waiter about exactly how you like your steak. Great, friendly staff too. Good work, Jack!
