Due to a late ferry, I arrived in Launceston after 8.30 on a Monday evening, and found *everything* was closed. Got lost on my way to the supermarket to buy a couple of packets of crisps and a bottle of wine to take back to the hotel for dinner, and happened upon the Star of Siam!Even though Google said they were closed, they weren't, and I had a lovely dish of 'Exotic' seafood, and a bottle of Singha. I missed out on dessert, because by then the kitchen really *was* closed, but the meal was delicious, the service was friendly, and I was a happy camper.
Loved this restaurant. Quick, delicious meal here. Lovely service as well. I recommend and Id go back
The best thaifood I have eaten outside Thailand. Good and very attentive service :)
My wife ordered a main, but I only ordered a small soup as I wasn't hungry. The waiter came back and told us we hadn't ordered enough food. I understand now from the reviews that there is a minimum spend, but he didn't tell us this and it was very off-putting. We caved in and my wife asked if they could do a mixed entree plate to which he agreed, but then he came back with a plate of just vegetable spring rolls. Food was fine if not spectacular, and portion size was small for the price we paid (including public holiday surcharge of 15%). The service from the other waiters/waitresses was friendly.
Crab in Crab Fried Rice is salty so I doubt it might be frozen marinated crab instead of fresh flesh. Tom Yom is flavoursome, but still think the price is not reasonable if we see the quantity of each dish.
