If i could give this no stars i would. I would not recommend this place to anybody!Unfortunately for me and my partner we are both under the age of 21 and this place was the only place that would hire to us being 20 years of age. I had done a lot of reading of reviews and they all seemed great and quite reliable. Not for us. Regardless of our age we should of been treated fairly unless all cars in the yard are like the car we were given then thats very poor service. We were picked up from the airport and driven to the car centre, We paid our $500 bond and expected to go out and have a rundown of the car, but all we had was heres the keys, if any lights turn on try fix it and a piece of paper of a short version of contract.We had organised to have the car from the 13-23rd and on the 22nd, We get a call asking if we are in Launceston today because hes playing golf and wont be able to make it tomorrow, we were staying an hour out of launceston, so taking it back that day wasnt easy for us, so the lady in the following day.Below are some of the issues we had.-temperature gage doesnt work properly-car rattles and shakes when stopped-struggles to tick over when turning on -radio doesnt work when charging your phone in USB port-struggles to go up hills, doesnt go past 40km and revs up to 6000 RPM-doesnt change gear properly for an automatic -car remote to lock/unlock didnt work-indicator turns off all the time before turning -last proper service was done at 5000 kms in 2006 and the car has done over 277,000?Thats only part of the issues we had, the list could go on.
Affordable cars (cheapest available, I reckon) and most importantly, amazing service.I love using the services of a small business, There's the lovely owner and two workers in this company and they do it all themselves. They gave me a ride to the airport (even though I didn't arrange it beforehand - otherwise they provide this service, of course), and they didn't make a big deal when I wanted to extend the car hire last minute, even though that meant they had to shuffle cars around and make changes to bookings. Highly recommended!
Terrific old style service. Manual 2001 Laser was an oldie but a goldie. Wayne even ran us to airport a couple of days after we returned said car. Refused to accept any payment. Said :"Keep it to buy a couple of cold Boags at airport" (which we did).
Great service and great value,cars are a little older but well maintained by a long established mechanic,been renting from them for 10 years,never a problem.Tassie owned and operated by two lovely people.
