We stayed in Irish Cottage for 2 nights and are definitely in love with the cottage. The kitchen was well equipped, the bed was big and comfortable, there was a fireplace at the lounge room, outdoor seating area and ensuite with a big spa bath. The cottage rate includes a hearty breakfast (bacon, egg, tomato, bread, spreads, milk, juice, muesli and yoghurt) as well as cheese plater and local drinks (beer and cider) to welcome you. There was also a washing machine, dryer, washing powder and clothes horses in the laundry for your use. All the detergent were environmentally friendly too. I love the fact that there are lots of small details in the cottage to make it feel much more homey :)
Amazing place, huge breakfast with fresh and quality ingredients. Parking is available for one car out the front of the room.Great themed cottage, wifi is a bit iffy down in the very far cottage. There is a small laundry available for guests, including a dryer. Aircon in the room is good in the hot summer.The soaps, detergents, tissues and toilet paper are eco-friendly. They work well and smell great.
Alice's Cottages are an exceptional lodging experience for for the discriminating traveler. We have traveled the world and have not found a more comfortable lodging experience anywhere. We were fortunate to have spent three nights in the Scotish Cottage which was not long enough to fully enjoy the ambience and relaxation this cottage affords. We were a short walking distance to downtown Launceston, and equally manageable walking distance to the Cataract Gorge park.This was a stay in an authentic period setting, except we had running and hot water, electricity, electric blankets, electric heating and ironing board. We have stayed in hundreds of hotels around the world and these accommodations are truly the most memorable we have enjoyed. If Launceston, Tasmania is in your travel plans, seriously consider Alice's Cottages as your lodging destination. Oh, and do yourself a favor, stay for several days. It must be disappointing for travelers to experience this fantastic setting, and then realize it was only for a day or two.
Had a wonderful 2 night stay in early August with my partner. The cottage was warm and comfortable and full of charm. Especially loved the 4 poster bed and the open fire. The hosts were very helpful and provide a very generous breakfast, while the cottages are quiet and reasonably centrally located. Will be my choice for accommodation in Launceston in the future.
Lovely homey cottages, very handy to all amenities. Plenty of supplies, for an evening drink, or a cooked breakfast. The cottages are comfortable, and roomy, will definitely come back in summer to check out the courtyard. Great parking, I drive a Cherokee, and sometimes have trouble fitting, but not here. Got to love a fireplace in winter.
